Environment
In order to create and preserve an environment worth living in, a commitment by all of us is required. We feel obliged to harmonise our economic, ecological and social requirements. The economical use of our natural resources, such as energy, water or the avoidance of waste, is particularly important to us.
In order to reduce CO2 emissions, we are striving to further reduce the energy requirements of our manufacturing, research and development sites in Germany and the United Kingdom. To this end, we are perpetually initiating new projects with which we can further reduce our CO2 emissions.
Not only environmental projects, but also the continuous improvement of system and process efficiency allow us to reduce our own consumption as well as our customers’ energy requirements through our trend-setting technologies.
In 2017, we received the Energy Efficiency Award of the German Energy Agency (dena) for our pioneering, resource-conserving energy management concept. The prize was awarded for our digital measurement and remote monitoring of energy data. It also recognises the implementation of extensive energy efficiency measures in heating and cooling systems in the category ‘Energy Efficiency 4.0’.
In addition to the large and important projects, however, it is often the large number of smaller projects that have a considerable impact when taken as a whole and thus continuously contribute to a consumption optimisation. One example is the optimisation of circulating water cooling or the conversion from conventional lighting to energy-saving LED lighting. Our latest Sustainability Report always provides a good overview.
