What do you like about being a student at AIXTRON?

What I particularly like about AIXTRON is the opportunity to help shape the technology of the future. The projects that we are currently implementing focus on future trends. So even as a student assistant, I get the chance to contribute, lead my own projects and make decisions. In the future, I’d like to receive further training in the field of systems engineering and work together with AIXTRON on new technologies.

Christian Glimm (currently writing his master’s thesis at AIXTRON on mechanical engineering)

What were your tasks as a student?

As a student assistant at AIXTRON, I was involved in the further development of an autonomous controller for MOCVD systems. As part of the team, I helped to optimise the production processes. Even during my studies, I was excited by the prospect of engaging in theoretical and practical work as part of a team. Today, I’m a salaried development engineer responsible for drive technology and prototype development.

Sven Fischer (former student assistant)

How does AIXTRON support you?

AIXTRON provided me with great support during my studies. As a student assistant, I gained valuable insights into the working life of an engineer. To support my studies, I completed a twelve-week internship in the areas of prototyping and controlling. What I love about AIXTRON is the state-of-the-art technology and also the fact that you really are part of the whole development process and so have the opportunity to contribute to the outstanding success of AIXTRON over the long term too.

Joshua Vines (intern and student assistant; studying industrial engineering)
