Health, Safety, Environment Lead (w-m-d)

to start immediately, permanent position

The Role:

This role will be a fundamental in the development of policies and procedures enabling us to achieve our objectives of achieving both ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards. As the Health, Safety and Environmental Lead you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of HS&E management system across the sites of AIXTRON Ltd. This multidisciplinary role will require in-depth knowledge of all aspects related  to HS&E and management.

Your responsibilities:

• You will provide hands-on support in developing, implementing, and administering a HS&E management system, driving improvement into the business processes. 
• You will be the initial point of contact on any health, safety and environmental related matters ensuring that all applicable legal and other obligations are understood and met across the business operations. 
• You will carry out and coordinate accident / incident investigations, reporting to interested parties when required.
• You will establish and maintain a robust audit schedule, conduct audits and manage all internal and externally generated NCRs, ensuring root cause analysis is carried out and effective corrections and corrective actions are applied.
• You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the legal and other requirements register, ensuring Management are kept up to date with all relevant statutory, regulatory and other requirements across all aspects realted to health, safety, and environment.
• You will work with the Facilities Specialist to gain required understandings of the facilities, ensuring continuity of service provision where required.
• Deliver HS&E training.
• Be part of the health and safety, fire and emergency response team and be available on-site/on-call (rota to be determined by your line manager) in the event of an emergency.
• Preparation of the monthly HS&E performance report for presentation to the Quality Department Manager.

Your Profile:

• Relevant degree or equivalent in a technical field (engineering or technology based desirable).
• Extensive experience of HS&E management systems in a manufacturing environment.
• L3 NEBOSH Certification in Occupation Health & Safety
• Experience/knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO 45001
• Knowledge of hazardous/flammable gases/chemicals, vacuum or pressurised equipment is desirable
• Have strong attention to detail and high standards of work.
• Be internal-customer focussed, able to understand and grasp the needs of various departments in the organisation and be able to come up with the appropriate solutions.
• NEBOSH fire safety and risk management is desirable. 
• Environmental qualification or knowledge is desirable 

Working Conditions / Environment:

• Role based at AIXTRON Ltd, Buckingway Business Park, Anderson Road, Swavesey, Cambridge CB24 4FQ
• Work will be split between the Swavesey and Bar Hill sites
• This role will require a reasonable amount of hands-on work (where practical/safe to do so)
• Occasional travel to Headquarters in Germany
