We are looking for an Automation Engineer to support the development, release and subsequent scale up of AIXTRON’s new autonomous cell culture system. As part of a high performance, multidisciplinary team, the Automation Engineer will be responsible for testing and qualification of new systems both at AIXTRON and at customer sites. You will be involved with the full product life cycle and will be trained to have expert knowledge on this system. This role will include working with a wide range of technologies such as motion control, safety systems and liquid handling systems, programmable logic controllers and electrical systems. This role requires travel to customer sites for installation and training purposes. 

The Automation Engineer will be expected to adopt the practices of a modern engineering office and an ISO 9001 companywide quality system.

Your responsibilities:

• Test and Qualification of customer system at both Factory and customer sites. Use of best practices to ensure that systems ship to customers with high standards of traceability and quality as per Aixtron’s ISO9001 company standards.
• Continuous Product development and qualification: Support prototype and product development by means of installation, test, documentation and feedback. The work will also include contributing to design reviews to ensure that new ideas and products are rolled out in a timely and structure manner.
• Documentation and training: Support the creation and maintenance of test documentation and train relevant staff and customers on teh new systems

Your Profile:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) or relevant experience
• Hands on experience working with automated systems
• Demonstrable experience in setting up and tuning of hardware / software for automation
• Experience of working at customers sites 
• Direct experience involving rewiring of electrical control panels would be an advantage
• Must have a strong aptitude for problem solving 
• Must be capable of working both on their own and in a team environment
