AIX 2400 system ordered by Sumitomo Electric for Communication Network Devices AIXTRON is proud to announce that Sumitomo Electric Industries in Yokohama, Japan, one of the worlds largest suppliers of electro optical components, has recently purchased an AIX 2400 multiwafer Planetary Reactor® system. Epitaxial films produced with the reactor will be processed into compound semiconductor devices for application in communication network systems worldwide. The AIXTRON Planetary Reactor® system was decided by Sumitomo "…because it is the most efficient mass production system demonstrating excellent wafer layer quality, highest uniformity together with highest efficiency and uptime". The AIXTRON group offers a wide range of epitaxial systems for MOVPE, VPE and LPE from R&D-oriented systems up to large-scale Planetary Reactor® production systems for up to 25x4" or 9x6" wafers. AIXTRON has already installed over 350 systems worldwide.
