AIXTRON has recently implemented several further significant improvements to its service network in order to provide its customers around the world with the highest quality and fastest service possible.

In a major development aimed at enhancing service, AIXTRON has just completed an increase of its spare parts stocks at its Service Centers in Japan, Europe, USA and Taiwan. In total, the company has spent over DM 3 million in increasing its stock levels. These higher stock levels will mean even faster, more efficient service for customers worldwide, reducing downtime, while waiting on replacement parts, to a minimum.

AIXTRON has also introduced various service packages aimed at providing customers with the most flexible service possible. These include, for instance, contractual arrangements with customers to have consignment stocks stored for them at Service Centers or alternately at the customer´s site. These consignment stocks are then exclusively available on demand to that customer. This has the advantage of ensuring the customer the fastest possible delivery response time.

A further new development is the introduction of service and maintenance contracts, guaranteeing the customer on-site service support and thus minimizing downtime of AIXTRON equipment.

AIXTRON´s service team responsible for coordinating service worldwide has been expanded significantly and now has a staff of over 25 competent service engineers. This service team spends 75% of its time travelling to customers.

Expansion and further enhancement of AIXTRON´s worldwide service will continue throughout 1998, to ensure customers highly competent and efficient service which can be provided in the fastest possible response time.
