AIXTRON is now to further expand its service network for its US customers by providing local service and process support from an LA location.

This new service will be officially available from October 1, 1997 and will be headed by Dr. Xiaosong Jiang, an experienced MOCVD Process Engineer. Dr. Jiang joined AIXTRON over 4 years ago after he had received his PhD from the University of California San Diego. He will be assisted in his new role by three highly qualified Field Service Engineers.

"The new office in LA will mean even faster service and supply of spare parts for our customers in both the San José Bay Area as well as the greater LA area," commented Dr. Egbert Woelk, Director of Sales and Customer Service for the US. "We have a strong concentration of customers in this area, including, for instance, TECSTAR, Rockwell, JPL-NASA, Spectrolab, Hughes, H-P and Lawrence Livermore. Because service is such a vital element of the total package we supply, we decided that this geographical area could be better serviced by a local, fast response team. "

This new team is a major addition to the strong team of 5 field service engineers already working out of AIXTRON´s US headquarters in Chicago.

This further expansion is part of AIXTRON´s ongoing effort to provide unparalleled service to its customers around the world.
