!!! Press Release !!! Second AIX 2400G3 laser mass production system ordered by Mitsubishi Electric Corp. Shortly after the first purchase order from Mitsubishi, AIXTRON AG is pleased to receive a further contract for an AIX 2400G3 Planetary Reactor® System equipped with an automatic wafer handler to Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Itami, Japan. The purchase of this second AIX 2400G3 reactor system, which is a proven mass production tool, will enable Mitsubishi to continue producing highest quality lasers in large quantities. Dr. Masayoshi Takemi, chief engineer of Mitsubishi, states: "We are convinced and have checked that with the existing AIXTRON Planetary ReactorÒ system we will be competitive in the booming market of optoelectronic devices. We know about the high performance of the system which is producing uniform high quality layers and this has been the deciding factor for us to purchase a second system. This strategy will guarantee future high standards of production combined with cost minimization". The AIXTRON group offers a wide range of epitaxial systems for MOVPE, VPE and LPE from R&D-oriented systems up to large-scale Planetary Reactor® production systems for up to 25x4" or 9x6" wafers. AIXTRON has installed over 350 systems worldwide. The company provides an extensive service and support network for maintenance as well as upgrading systems and is represented in over 15 countries.
