Aachen / St. Petersburg, 19 November 2003 - The IOFFE Technical Institute, located in St. Petersburg, Russia, has recently ordered an AIX 200 for the development and production of epitaxial compound layer structures. The main applications will be growth of InGa(As)Sb material for mid IR light sources and detectors employed for ecology investigations and devices used for medicine purposes.

Dr. Mikhael N. Mizerov, Director of Scientific-Engineering Center for Microelectronics of the IOFFE Institute comments: "MOCVD growth of long wavelength laser structures is a very demanding technology, one which requires growth equipment with highest levels of precision and control.
