!!! Press Release !!!
AIXTRON is pleased to announce that ADC ALTITUN, located in Jarfalla, Sweden, has installed the proven AIX 200/4 MOCVD system for growth of InP based laser materials. The new reactor will be used for the production of ALTITUN's unique tunable lasers. ALTITUN was founded in 1997 as a spin-off of the microelectronics group in Kista, Sweden. Today ADC ALTITUN is one of the most important manufacturers of tunable lasers in the wavelength region around 1,5µm. Since these lasers are based on very complex structures, the requirements on the MOCVD growth are amongst the tightest in industry. For the tunable laser products we can only use technologies with the highest level of precision and control. We have been evaluating equipment quite some time and the AIXTRON equipment meets our demands to an optimum", says Dr. Lennart Ramberg, Managing Director of ADC ALTITUN. "Its capability to grow highest quality Quantum well structures and its excellent reproducibility makes AIXTRON the system of choice for the growth of laser structures." AIXTRON has installed over 400 systems worldwide and is represented in over 15 countries. The company provides an extensive service and support network for maintenance as well as upgrading of its systems. Among AIXTRON's list of further industrial clients are names such as Agilent/LumiLeds, Alcatel, Anritsu, AXT, Epistar, Epitronics, EPSON, Hewlett Packard UK, Honeywell, IQE (EPI), ITT, JDS-Uniphase, Kopin, Lucent, Mitsubishi Electric, Motorola, NEC, Nortel, Osram, Samsung, Siemens, Showa Denko, Sumitomo Electric, Thomson, UEC, VPEC and numerous Japanese corporations. AIXTRON systems have also been installed in many of the world's most renowned research institutes including JPL, Sandia Nat. Lab., Fraunhofer Institute, ITRI-OES, CNRS. AIXTRON is very active in advancing MOCVD technology through collaborations and joint R&D projects with major partners worldwide.
